I completely feel for you. But if they get in, and don't win, it will only make it more difficult later. My beloved Giants (I say this humbly as you and your loved ones are probably also Dodger's fans...I root, root, root for the home team, what can I say?) were of course in the Series a couple of years ago, and I was so excited, and invited myself over to houses of friends with tv's so we could watch games at 2 in the morning, and gave all of my colleagues daily updates (which they found very amusing, but put up with since I get equally nutty about the World and European Cups). And then it all went spectacularly pear-shaped and they lost.
And now, the World Series is nothing to me, except as a means to an end. I want the Giants to WIN! And I am perfectly aware of how unlikely that is for this year!
