It Has Started
I know I am probably behind the rest of you on this but it snowed today in Kansas City. Yes, it was the first snow of "the season". I was born and raised in Southern California. I lived in Houston, Texas the last 8 years. I don't like the snow. My mom was very happy and excited but I just pulled my coat tighter and ate my soup. It is going to be a long winter. At least the fireplace isn't just for show anymore.

Well, it's nowhere near snowing in Denmark, but that's because it doesn't snow that much...maybe a few days in January or February, occasionally a day in December. I like the idea of snow, and the first day or so is fun, but then the novelty definitely wears off.
So, do you get serious snow in Kansas, like blizzards and stuff?
well I don't think there is serious snow here. At least that is what I have been told. It will snow but not really stick around. It mostly freezes. The lakes and Missouri River will be frozen but it won't be all white like you see some places transform. I am just a whiner. I have never liked the snow. I was ALWAYS dragged to Big Bear (mountain resort) when I was a kid to sled. It was fun for a bit until I got all wet and cold which usually took 5 minutes tops. My brother got to choose what he wanted to do for his b-day in December. He always wanted to go to the mountains to play in the snow. I always chose Disneyland. I still choose Disneyland.
Now that I'm home from Syracuse (aka arctic pole of the U.S.), I'm amazed that everyone is getting snow before me. MUAHAHAHA!
I mean...I'm sorry. I'll send you soup. :)
Ok, I'm in Ohio and even with our crazy weather, we don't have snow yet!!
We haven't even gotten snow yet! NO FAIR!

Hey, yesterday while I was teaching, I looked out of the window...and it was snowing! So, I spoke too soon about not having any snow for a while yet. However, it was only for about 20 minutes, and didn't stick at all - not even the grass was snowy.
But on the other hand, it's now a bit frosty in the mornings, so you've got me counting down to the real winter weather here, too!
