My Brief View of Election Results

So now it seems it is the democrats turn to rule the country. I am a registered republican but not an extreme righty as most of you can tell. I think it is good to change drivers once in a while. Do I think the nation will fall to pieces with democrats in control? Absolutely not. Do I think the nation is better off with them in control? Absolutely not. It doesn't matter what party a person is in, if they are a politician they're a liar. Congrats to the winners and better luck next time to the losers. Don't forget Americans, united we stand, divided we fall. Time to move forward.

Is it really fair to assume that if a person is a politician, he or she is automatically a liar? I am not at all educated in politics and I am hopelessly idealistic and naive, so take that with a grain of salt. But surely there must be SOME politicians who tell the truth. Otherwise, how will this nation ever get better?

he he he well....maybe I was a little harsh by including everybody. I will ammend my claim and say "in my experience as a voter, if you are a politician you are a liar". I am sure somewhere out there in someone else's state they have an honest politician ;)

I find it disconcerting that the media automatically count the two independent Senators as Democrats, giving Democrats control of the Senate (two seats still undecided at this writing). Seems to me it's the Independents who have control.

How can you tell if a politician is lying?

His lips are moving.

It's always best to have a balance of power, as opposed to complete control by one party. This is what I had hoped for. Now, time will tell. I hope the Dems can move this country forward and perhaps undo some of the stripping of our rights that have occurred, and actually serve the people, not the corporations, lobbyists or others who poured in the money.

Mark Twain once said:
"Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."

The fact that they groom themselves from high school age to get a job that doesn't pay that much only emphasizes that most of them are only there for power games and not actually helping people. Give them all a 2 term max and you'd really see stuff happening quickly! >30 yrs in office?! come on!

Oops, vented on your page. Sorry. :)
