Never Use DT's Quick Move

This moving company is the worst moving company of all time. They never called me to tell me when my furniture would be picked up and showed up at my house at 8:30 pm. It took them 4 hours. Yes, that is right; they were at my house until 12:30 am. I wanted to make sure the delivery would not be a repeat of late hours but guess what! You got it. They were here until 11:42 pm and of course that was 4 days later than when they said they would deliver. They did not put all of my beds together nor did they put the boxes in the correct rooms. They also left my dining room table in pieces. They removed the legs! They took off the legs from my table and said they were not contracted to re-attach them. We whipped out the contract to show them otherwise but in the end we just wanted them out of the house and told them to leave it. This moving company was contracted by Nationwide Relocation so if you ever use Nationwide and/or you are in the Dallas area, NEVER use or allow DT Quick Move. They lie and do as little work as possible for the most money they can squeeze out of you. I plan on writing a long letter to the BBB and attorney general now. I have talked to Nationwide until I am blue in the face and they said their hands are tied and they "are sorry for such a negative experience".

Enough of the moaning ( I live in the Bible Belt now and can't say 'bitching'). Mom is out of the hospital and doing great. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. And on a final happy note, I got to actually snuggle with my husband this morning before he went in to work! Whoohoo!

Even if you hate Kansas, isn't it worth it to be with your darling sweetie again?

:-)

Take care, Friend, and know that things will get better.

lol I am sorry to hear about the movers- Mom and I always said never to let a man move your stuff, because for some reason women just seem better at it. I dunno if it's because we care so much more about our things, or if we just have brains that know how to pack things really well.

I'm glad to hear about your Mom, will keep you both in my prayers :)

Thank you for all of your kind and inspiring comments at my blog. You are a wonderful person. :)

Take Care,
-sunny

I wish I had read this last week! I am having so much trouble with these freaking morons!! They were supposed to deliver my furniture from Dallas to Boston on July 8 and now they tell me the truck is broken and I MIGHT get my stuff on July 13th!!! What a joke! I'm just afriad now they are going to break or steal my stuff since I've been such a pain - calling and talking to whoever is supposedly in charge. Nationwide has been no better - doinbg exactly the same thing - saying there's nothing they can do. I am fit to be tied and want to figure out a way to screw them over. I also plan on writing letters and making sure these idiots are out of business soon. Live and learn.

Frustrated in Boston (and sitting on the floor!)

Dear Anonymous, let me tell you, stuff was missing. check everything VERY CAREFULLY. Just two boxes out of 122 were missing but they contained all of the video games and game consoles. Stuff with high pawn value. I had insurance and actually had to claim through my insurance because Nationwide and DT's Quick move ignored me. My insurance made me go to the police station and file a theft charge. It never said DT's stole anything just that somehow things were stolen between their truck and my house. I would reccommend you do the same and send it to Nationwide if anything is missing. If they get enough of those type of things maybe they will quit using them. It really sadden me to see that Nationwide still refers them after the hell I went through last summer. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I really am.

HI, stumbled on this post as I did a google on DT quik move. I am currently going through the same hellish experience with these jokers, the DT Quik move combination with Nationwide. They came one full day late to pick up my stuff, and its been 4 days, and they are yet to deliver. Count me in if you are filing a petition to sure these buggers! I am waiting for them to deliver the stuff this weekend.

I just had the same problem with Nationwide and Quick Move! They gave me the exact same treatment. I'm sending them both letters and filing complaints with the BB and Consumer Reports. I'm glad that I'm not alone!

My husband just got a new job and the company he went to work for hired movers to move us from Dallas to Marshall, TX. I got a call this past Monday from Nationwide and I gave them a list of stuff to be moved and they said my belongings would be picked up today (Thursday) and delivered on Friday. Needless to say I hadn't heard anything abotu a timeframe of when the mvoers would be here yesterday so I called Nationwide and was told the carriers were gone for the day and they couldn't tell me anything. But said I would hear from them this morning. I called them at 8:30 a.m. and they didn't have any answers, they said the carrier wouldn't be in until 9 a.m. So I called back at 9:30 and was told that the movers were in Dallas offloading some stuff and would be at my house this afternoon. I then called the HR person with my husband's company, she is the one that put everything together. She called and got the name of the company that was moving us, it is DT's Quick Move. She got DT on the phone and he said they are not scheduled to be at my house until tomorrow (Friday) and said they would be here between 8-10 am. I asked him when my stuff would be delivered and he says he can't tell me that because he doesn't know how much stuff I have. I asked him if it would be delivered this weekend and he assured me it would. I guess we will find out. So far I am not happy with this experience between Nationwide and DT's at all. After looking up Nationwide and DT's, I am really uneasy and nervous about this move. I hope it goes better than yours did and I don't have any more problems.

I also (unfortunately) was referred to DT Quick Move through Nationwide. After 3 weeks, I just had my stuff delivered today. It was a horrible experience and it wasn't so much the drivers as it was Mr. DT himself. He was rude when I called to complain and threatened to have my belongings picked up and put back on the truck after I requested a re-weight of my things. I still don't know the outcome of the re-weight but had to pay the anted up cost, not my "binding estimate cost" anyway. Furthermore, to add insult to injury when they uncovered my dining room table it looked like they had rolled it and sat something with sharp edges on top of it. So now my table which was once beautiful is marred. My heart plummeted when I saw it. I will be speaking with Nationwide again in the morning. DT Quick Move needs to be moved off of Nationwides' subcontractor listing.

We too had the same problem with DT Quick move and Derrek Taylor. He and his compnay are a joke.
The damaged our goods, were late on delivery and threatned to come to our house and cause bodily harm to me wife.
The people that work for them are theives.
They did not allow us to file a claim for the damages and charged us triple what we were quoted throuhg Duntara Moving company.

I have sent letters to the Attorney general as well and state represenative and the BBB. They need to be put out of busniness and in jail.

I am going through even worse with DTs Ive paid them 3550.00 and still wont deliver my things. Says I still owe them 1500.00 for them to deliver. They are charging me 300.00 a month for storage, they were contracted through Cont. Vanlines and they are giving me the same thing they can't do anything for me. They (Dt)said they would deliver my things if I paid them 2000.00 which I did thats where the total is 3550.00 and when they got that check they said I needed to give them the 1500.00. They have my whole house, My son has brain damage and all of his things he needs they have. They are the worst company ever. Be careful, they will rip you off in every way...

I went online to get the best bid offer to move me. I was needing to get out of the state of Missouri fast. I am a victim of domestic violence and my husband was being release from jail. So Cont. Vanlines gave me the best price. (so I thought) DT Quick Moves came to my home and loaded my things, I was given a quote of 1700.00 I paid 550.00 down. Well DT broke a dresser then blames me for it. When they went to weight my things the priced jumped to 2500.00 and of course I did not have that kind of money. So they took my things to Dalls and stored them. They said they would hold my things till I could pay them the 2500.00. I came up with 1000.00 and DT said I needed to come up with 2000.00 more and they would deliver my things. I have text messages from them stating if I came as close as I could they would wave all other fees and deliver my things. This has been going on since April 2012. I sent them the 2000.00 and now they want 1500.00 more to deliver my things. They have told a friend that they spent 4 days in Nm waiting for me to answer my phone, then said they came back and spent 2 more day here. Which is a total lie. He also want to charge me for comimg out to Nm 2 times which I do not believe, also said he had to put my belongings into a storage place in Phoniex, Az in which they loaded and reloaded on to their truck. He has stated not only in text messages but on the phone as well, that I am using him. His guys that moved my belongings told him a guy that was at my house told them if they tried to screw me that the Mafia would take care of them. I told him they and he was lying, that if I had conncetions with the Mafia that I would not need his company to move me.

He has made threats on the phone and in texts that he will not be responsible for my bleongings anymore.

I called Cont. Vanlines and reported this, and they can't and wont do anything to help. but call him and tell him he has to hold onto my belongings till I pay him.

He told them that if I pay him the 1500.00 he will deliver my things. Told my friend that if I just pay the fuel cost then he will deliver my things a little at a time, since he has to go to Phoniex, Az once a week. Then he tells me he will not be responsible for my belongings. This is all in one day, within an hour or each other.

I am afraid most of my belongings will not be there, like all of my sons video games and consoles plus much more. I just read reports that they steal from their clients and break their clients items.

My son has brain damage and is in need of his items, pluse we need our clothes, we have hardley any to wear.
