Flashback Friday: Best Class Picture Ever

Little Man has picture day today at his school. That inspired me to share M-Boy's very first class picture. It is a classic:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

M-Boy had just been diagnosed with autism and put into a early intervention class with other children who have disabilities too. All of these children have special needs of some type. This photo was so hilarious but I just really felt bad for his teachers who look traumatized by the whole ordeal. M-Boy is sitting in a little blue chair on the right (front row). The only child "looking" at the photographer was the little girl on the left who happened to be blind. Oh I laughed for days over this one. I have a sick sense of humor, don't I? The children were crying because the photographer INSISTED they interrupt the children's breakfast to take this photo. Everyone share their nightmare school picture stories now! You know you have one.

Not a nightmare school picture, but a nightmare FAMILY picture.

A mom and a dad, 7 year old brother, and 5 year old twin sisters bopping around K-Mart, their favorite store. We're dressed up like for church.

Mom spent ALL afternoon putting Nellie-Olsen style curls in our hair. Dotty wrapped a blanket around her hair, and mom had to redo. Plus she yelled. It was a tense day.

We walked through the toy department and then the clothes area to where the photo area was set up.

It was a melee, and I was confused. The photographer had HORRID breath and kept getting in my face and talking too loud.

Dad- Smiling Face
Mom- Smiling Face
James- Smiling Face
Dotty- Smiling Face
Jayleigh- Red face, crying all-out.

My sister has used this as her Christmas card to me several times.

I had to laugh when I saw this photo, no, I don't have any photos NEAR as precious as this one...all the children look high as a kite.

I went to an all girls Catholic school and we of course had uniforms--we always un buttoned the top button adn sometimes the second button as well(we had no air conditioning on the thrid floor we be unbelievably hot) So on picture day in the begiining of the school year(August) O of course had the top two buttons opened--well I never realized it until well after the pictures that another button had come undone--but I assumed it had only just come undone when I took my school blazer off, and so I didn't think any more about it. When I received my school pics the next month--there was a digital white thing covering up the unbuttoned area--obivously my third button was undone during the pictures. Unfotunately-this is the picture that is in the school yearbook for my junior year. Nice.

Hey Spencer, you know you are still healing from your car wreck! such energy! luv ya xoxo

jayleigh, couldn't you just pretend it was Dotty instead of you? of course it is difficult to fool your own twin, isn't it?

Rowan it is funny you said that about being high as a kite. most of these kids had wads of meds. Even M-Boy at the time was taking anti-seizure meds. If it doesn't heal you, it will kill you. kind of sad, huh?! Our poor youth of today

Dave, I would love to see little Davey pictures. Share!

Etchen I shared your horror story with my husband this morning. He laughed so hard as did I. Yeah nice of them to put that in the yearbook.

Sangroncito, I was actually quite friendly with the teacher. She was mortified by this photo. she said she had never had such a terrible picture in all her years of teaching (like 25 or so- the lady on the right). I told her that I would treasure this photo always and I have! The little girl who is crying next to her and the boy on her lap were known as "runners". During the day they had to wear these red safety tags in case they ran out of the school room. That way all adults would know to stop them. They didn't like the kids to be locked in rooms so they came up with the safety vest method. LOL oh what a job.

No school pictures here either. I had and still do a bad fear of having my picture taken.

This is one of those pictures where the details (like the one girl looking at the camera being blind) make all the difference.

As for me, I had a history of taking bad school pictures - on more than one occasion, I erased my picture from my own copy of the school yearbook, it was so bad.

Oh my God, this is so cute!!!

Though I must say, that is a very small number of teachers for a very large number of kids.
