Whirlwind

My life has been busy. I haven't been able to blog (read or write) so here are a few bullets from Daphnewood

  • Sometimes people really suck
  • I haven't watched an Astros game in 1 week. Apparently they have lost most of those games
  • Little Man has 17 big fat tomatoes on his plant already and 12 cherry tomatoes on the other one.
  • I had a great Mother's Day

Have a happy monday everyone.

Hi there-hope your Mother's Day was wonderful; a bit chilly of a day weatherwise and kept looking like rain, but could have been worse. Was out near your neck of the woods Sunday as my sister and I took our Mom to breakfast at a certain buffet she likes. How neat that your son's tomato plant is doing so well. Awesome for him!

One year R. wanted to grow a garden, so I spaded up a part of the back yard, and planted seeds, tomatoes included. When a couple of weeks went by and nothing happened, I went down to the store and bought young plants and put them in. R. ame home from school and went out to check the garden. She came running in the house going "Dad! Dad! you gotta come out side and see!
I never did tell her about the Ol' Switcheroo.

Wello, I hope life slows down a bit for you. Congrats to little man on his farming feat! Any big plans for the tomatoes?

So, you don't watch the games for a week...and the majority of the games are lost...you do realize what this means, don't you? Watch more games...your team needs you! ;-)

p.s. ...unless they're playing the Giants.

Ryan, I really do hope you are feeling better soon. Thanks for thinking of me. I had a great day and really love being a mom.

Vickie, what is up with this weather? It is so gorgeous outside yet kind of chilly. I truly love it? Is it like this every spring? This is my first spring here and in Houston we would be running the A/C already. I am glad you had a great Mother's Day. We should get together sometime.

Al, that story just shows what a great father you are. I think kids need proper encouragement and you sir are a master at it.

Etchen, Little Man has already said Grandma will get the first tomato and I will get the second. The cherry tomatoes are starting to turn red just a twinge!

Solin, your phone call made me happy too. Are you coming up here this summer? I need details! xoxo

Sangroncito, I will have a great week and you have a SAFE week ;)

Kim, I watched last night and guess what! They played the Giants and LOST. No, they not only lost, they got SLAUGHTERED. At the top of the 3rd inning it was 8-0. The game ended up being 10-1. Oh the misery but it was so bad it was almost funny if you know what I mean. I am really beginning to feel sorry for Barry Bonds. Like he is the only person in baseball to use steroids. Yeah right. If you believe that, I have a bridge I want to sell you too. The Astros fans were buttheads to him last night. Of course most of America is that way to him but I still think it is inexcusible.

Rowan, Little Man has had help from his daddy. My husband has been out there every weekend buying miracle grow and the such. We had to do minor surgery the other day. The tomatoes are actually so heavy they are bending the branches (the stakes can't even help). We tied them up with ribbon to a wire cage. I hope that helps them but they could be goners :( The cherry tomatoes are doing great though. He also buys a lot of those 'carnivorous' plants. that is the boy in him.
