Rain

I worked all day long while my mother had spaghetti sauce cooking on the stove. Have you ever been tempted by the smells of homemade sauce ALL DAY LONG? Let's just say that my dinner was excellent. Then as I came upstairs, the heavens opened up and dumped tons of water outside. It is raining but it is lovely rain. A soothing sound with only tiny rumbles of thunder. What a perfect way to end the day.

I love to hear the pit pat of rain on the roof as I am trying to fall asleep...it is relaxing as long as it is a light rain....not the downpour that we had here yesterday!
Hope the rest of the week is well!!
Hugs

Summer, a little thunder in the distance, a rain to cool and clean the air. Oh yeah! The only thing missing is the sound of a train whistle from a passing freight.

And of course the rustle of sheets beside you.

I often must use the crockpot and enjoy the aromas from that when I get home from work, so I know what you mean about smelling that sauce all day. Ooo la-la! Boy, we did get some rain, eh? We watched the sky go from light to dark and back again; the lightening. Some areas in our vacinity got 5-6 inches, which should about bring it to normal for them now. I'm afraid KC in general is still behind, tho.

wish that I could say the monsoon we've been having for the past week was refreshing....we've not enjoyed it...our roof is leaking, dog is muddy and pool is overflowing.

Jayleigh, it was yummy!

EG, in KC there is rain minus the mudslides (thankfully) but we do have to watch for the occasional tornado or two

Daisy, it did downpour but not for too long. It mellowed after an hour or so but then it was hypnotic. hugs to you too!

Al, it is funny you should mention the train. KC is FULL of trains and we hear them every day. I find the sound really comforting too (as well as gentle snoring and rustling sheets next to me in bed)

Vickie, I looked outside and saw theback yard underwater in a matter of minutes but then it was nice rainfall. I enjoyed it but the kids all slept downstairs last night (chickens!)

SA, I think you have nailed my problem right on the head. I have no guilt when I eat. I enjoy my food as much as possible whatever I am eating. Thus the need for very large clothes!

That does sound like a wonderful day! I have a similar experience when i put a crockpot on in the morning before work and then count down the hours until I can get home to it. Mmmm....
