Baseball and Loose Ends

I have been watching baseball as much as possible lately. There is only about one month left and then I will have to wait until April for it to start up all over again. I will be lost. Hopefully the Astros will make it to the post season but it isn't looking good. I still think they can do it.

I have also been really busy doing paperwork that has been left unattended since the summer break. I have to deal with social security ( a bureaucracy so imagine the red tape). Also, fill out emergency cards for school, PTA forms and classroom volunteer days. Yuck yuck and more yuck. Seriously, have any of you ever had to deal with the nazis that run the PTA? Last year was so pleasant. They had this woman who was wonderful and didn't imagine herself as more important than anyone. She just wanted to make the school better for the kids. Now she is gone and I am dreading the new reign. Will this person be a whiner? a dictator? a snoot? I have met some that are all three. It makes me want to not be a part of it at all. anyhoo, that is a look into my boring life these days.

Yes, but when someone like you is a part fo it--you help make it what it should be-the kids and not about who is experiencing a power trip. I know they are lucky to have you!

Hey, can you believe the humongous amounts of rain we have gotten recently? This is Tuesday and right now it is so beautiful outside that I can't believe it. Where I work they have a wonderful flower display out front in a park-like setting with a big fountain in the middle of it, and it just does a body good to get out of the office for a few minutes to go look at the flowers. Smell the roses, as they say. Wishing you well!

I went to a couple of PTA meetings, and it was all run by the in crowd, and they didn't like any interference. I made a suggestion and they looked at me like I had two heads and picked up their conversation right where they left off.

Ever notice how the PTA President/Chair is always the butt of every PTA-related story?

Ryan, thanx so much. I love you kiddo! Our teams did great last night, huh? xoxo

Etchen, I have found that asking the teacher is much more helpful than listening to the PTA babble. The teacher could always ask me for extra help and I never flinched. Once the PTA moms got a little miffed I was helping until the teacher stepped in and said "I asked her to be here". Really lame petty crud.

Vickie, I have been sleeping with my window open. I have had such great sleep these past two days. I LOVE this weather. I hope it stays cool.

Al, that story is so typical. That is the kind of thing that makes me angry. I really hate when those kind of people are the ones making the year book too because the whole thing is a collection of three different kids pictures that you get to buy for $30

Rick, yes usually that is the case. However, last year for me our president was AWESOME. She is gone though (moved away) This year if it is a woman that I am remembering, I think I will just send a check and stay away.

Hmmmm...whining dictatorial snoots...does not sound like fun. I hope it turns out to be better than that! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Is there a fantasy baseball league? Or are those only during the season?
