I've got a pair of purple slipper socks with white non-skid flowers on the bottoms. I can only go so far into the cold weather season wearing flipflops with my jammies before I have to switch to the slipper socks, then to my fake-fur lined moccasin slippers.
They look quite cute in the photo.

Vickie, I find myself buying more and more of these things. I like the huge ones without any type of sole friction so I can just put my shoes over them if necessary.
Kim, well the two pair that I own so far are not as cute. In fact they almost look like something Cruella DeVil would wear.
Findingheart, I never needed anything like them in Texas. In fact, I wore sandals most of the time in TX Socks just made me hotter
SA, if they were stitched with love, it was probably by an overworked child worker in India. I bought them from Wal-mart.
They are perfect if they keep you warm. Even if they are puke colored. :-)
