Call Me Drama

M-Boy has surgery wednesday. I got a voice mail this afternoon (about 30 minutes ago) from the vice principal at M-Boy's school saying that my son needs to be disciplined for an incident at school. His last day of school is technically on the 30th but since his surgery is on the 24th, I wasn't too sure he would be going back after that. So that means that this man wants to give my son detention on friday monday or tuesday. Help me! I know M-Boy should watch his mouth and not bully others but come on people! He is a little stressed and he has to work double time to get his finals done BEFORE the surgery. Everyone else has 3 extra days. Mr. Daphnewood says M-Boy should pay. Why is it so hard for me to be strict with M-Boy? I can be that kid's biggest advocate but at other times I know I hold him back by being so soft with him. I hate this!

Aw gee, I know! I was the same with my son when he was young and growing up and that is where my husband often would have to step in. What can I say; I understand. You and your husband will have to come to a sensible "comprise" and good luck with that!! I will keep your boy in my prayers and hope everything turns out ok. Do keep us posted--*warmest wishes*

It's because you love M-boy. And you have every reason to. It's just that you're protective over him a bit more when he isn't caught by you in th 'act' of doing anything. you have sympathy for him too, but thats only because you're a freaking awesome mom. I hope things go well for my adoptive little brother. <3 Let the family know the Blonde loves them. ^^

i think we all do this secretly don't we? as moms? AT least you are able to recognize it....a lot of folks will argue that they are not too soft/hard on their kids...you are a very accepting woman....I like that a lot about you

Mrs A get's mad at me because she thinks I am not strict enough. I think she understudied The Duchess of Discipline. Her dad should have been put in prison, but she still says "If I'd acted like that, my dad would have killed me!"

Well, detention isn't the worst thing in the world, so at least it's not something too awful. Poor kid, I bet his pretty stressed to the hilt right now. Best wishes for MBoy's surgery-I'll say a prayer for a speedy recovery.

Vickie, my husband seems to have problems disciplining our daughter while I am softer on the boys. We balance each other out I guess :)

Solin, thanks kiddo. I hoep we get to see you soon *fingers crossed*

Rowan, yes we all do it. I am no fool that thinks her child is perfect and can do no wrong. Those kind of parents irk the hell out of me. I just think there are times to cut kids a bit of slack. This really wasn't the time after thinking about it for a while. I like that you are so open with your kids. That is one of the reasons I like you too!

Ryan, you might be a brat but it is that angelic face of yours that allows you to get away with murder. I would definitely have a hard time telling you "No" too. Your poor momma. But we moms love our babies (even when they are spoiled rotten) xoxo

Al, that is so funny that your wife is the strict one. I would have thought it was the other way around. But then again, living with a scalawag like you, she has to run a tight ship, doesn't she?

Etchen, thanks! M-Boy has had so much homework this weekend. But I keep telling him he only has two more school days left because of it. Apparently he is not allowed to lift anything for quite a while afterwards. It is just the ear but physical stress can cause the body to reject his prosthetics going into the middle ear.

Kim, I'll pass on the well wishes ot M-Boy. I was so glad when your Giants left Houston. It was a horrible series for my guys. How's the weather in Denmark?

Sangroncito, I defend M-Boy more than I should. I have to start making him more independent and responsible for his actions. It is just one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. Love gets in the way :)
